Invented by Joe Sheridan in 1943 at Foynes Airport in Ireland to warm cold transatlantic passengers. Popularized in San Francisco in the 1950s.

Instructions

Warm a glass mug. Add sugar and whiskey, then hot coffee. Stir to dissolve sugar. Float whipped cream on top by pouring over the back of a spoon. No garnish.
